Acid Gas Removal from Natural Gas
Natural gas should contain less then 4% inert gasses namely carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide nitrogen, etc. Acid gas removal using amine plants is the accepted process but other chemical absorption and pressure swing absorption systems are being used. Membrane separation and concentration of CO2 is also used. Amine sweetening employs a high-pressure absorber container low-pressure stripper, high-pressure pumps. Cross heat exchangers, reboilers, etc. Corrosion is a major concern especially with primary amines.
Carbon dioxide removed from natural gas is necessary for the protection of the pipeline system from corrosion. Acid gas removal plants are essential to natural gas transportation and processing. They are a major part of the natural gas processing equipment manufactured. MEW, DEA, DGA, MDEA and mixed amines comprise the major ethanolamine’s that are used.
Hydrogen sulfide removal in many cases requires selective removal and treating amines such as MDEA. The primary acid gases are carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide H2S and are corrosive when water molecules are present.
Each of the ethanolamine’s has unique process envelopes of pressure, temperature and concentration of acid gas. Each have their own energy efficiencies. There are primary, secondary, and intermediate amines that have special acid gas selectivity and energy requirements.
The natural gas processing equipment could consist of amine absorption, molecular sieves, and membranes; carbonate absorption or combustions of the above. Carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide acid gases represent the major source of maintenance problems.
Sep-pro systems manufacture and designs amine plants, amine-treating equipment can require expensive metallurgy. Sep-Pro being and ASME code facility builds its own contractor and stripper columns, heat exchangers and fin fans. Sep-Pro designs the process was well as building your own electrical and PLC systems.
Our pricing and delivery on outright purchase is extremely competitive.
